56-year-old man charged with rape further remanded

A man charged with two counts of rape has been further remanded by the Suva High Court.

The 56-year-old man pleaded guilty to one count of rape and pleaded not guilty to the second count of rape.

It’s alleged that he raped his 40-year-old niece on October 17, last year in Suva.

The State lawyer has sought 14 days to confirm if the charge will be reduced.

The case has been adjourned to February 15.
