53 households in Vatukoula to have access to electricity

The government has spent $544,442 out of $60million for the electrification project at Gaunavou Low Cost Housing in Vatukoula.

Speaking during the commissioning of the Electrification Project Minister for Infrastructure Jone Usamate says the project includes grid extension and house wiring projects for 53 households.

Usamate says this will benefit over 260 Fijians.

He adds in 2018/2019 budget an additional $60million was set aside for grid extension and house wiring to close to 7000 households.

These projects are being carried out by Energy Fiji Limited and Department of Energy to benefit Fijians who don’t have access to electricity.
