Police has classified the death of New Zealand national Julie Alexander as attempted suicide.
Police Chief of Operations Rusiate Tudravu says an investigation is ongoing.
“What we have determined initially, it is attempted suicide but that’s the current finding. However investigations are continuing and we will wait for the investigators to complete investigation.”
Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro says the woman was admitted at Navua hospital on the eve of Saturday and later transferred to the CWM hospital in Suva where she died yesterday.
Alexander was born in Fiji but holds a New Zealand passport and is one of the founders of the International Rugby Academy of Fiji – a new rugby organisation in the country.
She lived in New Zealand, Australia, London, Monaco and Singapore returning to Fiji permanently in 2012.
