A 5-year-old boy has died and a woman and a 3-year-old are admitted at the Labasa Hospital after an early morning fire in their home.

The incident happened at around 3am at Tuatua.

FBC News understands there were five members of the family asleep when the fire broke out.

The two-bedroom corrugated iron and timber house had only one door which made escaping difficult.

The National Fire Authority and Police officials are at the scene investigating the matter.
