The 48 hours which is the time frame for the Fijian Elections Office to vet candidate nominations will not apply today.

Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem says they will need to sort every nominations filed today before it goes to the newspapers tomorrow.

“Our intention is to ensure that the processing is completed well ahead of midnight so that we are able to reach the newspaper for advertising.”

Saneem says they have all the agencies who are well aware of this and they will be on stand-by to assist in the process of applications as soon as possible.

He says they have a constricted time frame and will ensure that all processes are carried out well.

Saneem adds that he will see for himself that each nominee has met the minimum requirement as per the electoral act.
