A 47-year-old man who was involved in a road accident in Varavu, Ba last night has died.

Director Traffic SSP Mahesh Mishra says the incident occurred a little after 6 pm.

It is alleged that one of the tyres of the vehicle, driven by the 38-year-old suspect, burst causing the vehicle to veer onto the opposite lane and collided with the victim’s vehicle.

The victim’s wife and two young children were also travelling with him in the vehicle.

Mishra says the victim’s wife and two children aged two and one are currently admitted in the Lautoka Hospital all in critical condition.

The road death toll currently stands at 27 compared to 34.
