”Illegal rent increase , we got issues of non-issuance of receipts, non-issuance of agreements, non-refund of bonds so all these issues that were brought to us we have investigated some of the issues and out of them 31 matters are currently in court.”

Abraham says that some tenants lodge their complaints, however they refuse to cooperate with the Commission to carry out further investigation.

He adds that this is one of the issues faced by the commission

Meanwhile, the Consumer Council has received fifty one complaints on the similar issue in the last five years.
