Residents in Nadi and Lautoka have been advised to store water by next Friday as the Nagado Water Treatment Plant will shut down for a few days.

Water Authority of Fiji Chair, Bavesh Kumar says they will be installing the new valves and pressure transducer pipes at the Nagado Plant from September 29th to the 2nd of October.

Kumar says that residents should store at least 200 litres of water for drinking and cooking purposes.

“You need to store sufficient amount for water to last at least 2-3 days but apart from that what we have said is that water trucks will be around to fill tanks.”

He says the two new valves were purchased from Italy and are now in the country which they will be replacing.

Kumar adds they will cut water supply from Saturday next week at 1am until the 2nd of next month.
