A 37 year old caretaker of Suva has been charged with eight counts of rape-he allegedly committed on a 17 year old student.

According to Police the alleged incident occurred between the first and 30th April last year.
The alleged incident is said to have happened at a school hostel.

Police say the caretaker resides at the school.

The suspect will appear at the Suva Magistrates court on Monday.
