$35m direct impact of ADB meeting into Fiji’s economy

The direct impact of the ADB meeting into Fiji’s economy is around $35million says Governor Reserve Bank of Fiji Arif Ali.

Ali says with some delegates already in Fiji, the flow on them spending in the country will be enormous over the next few days.

He adds that the feedback from some of the Governors has been positive.

“As you go around the convention center you will see that a lot of people have been employed and even some on part-time basis people have come early and they have gone for scuba diving, and to other resorts outside of Nadi so it’s all contributing to the economy.”

The Governor mentions that Fiji will be advertised all over the world with a number of international media covering the ADB meeting.

Ali adds this will definitely attract more tourists into the country.
