35 youths of Sawani Village in Bua now have the knowledge and skills of basic cookery and baking.

The youths have just completed a weeklong Baking and Pastry Training facilitated by the Youth Ministry.

Closing the training, Youth Minister Laisenia Tuitubou says with plans underway for Nabouwalu to become a town, the youths should take that as a challenge and work towards starting their own business.

He says the establishment of tea houses and eateries will be a good business idea for Nabouwalu as it is the main sea port for Vanua Levu.

The objective of the training is to provide youths with the opportunity to improve cooking and baking skills as well as employment in the hotel and catering industry.

With their skills, the youth will also be able to provide catering services for the village.

Tuitubou also applauded the four males who were part of the training.
