A head-on collision between a private car and ten-wheeler truck in Malolo, Nadi this morning resulted in the death of a 34 year old man.

Police spokesperson, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri says a passenger in the private car is admitted at the Nadi Hospital.

The driver of the truck and his two passengers are being treated for minor injuries.

Sokomuri says the private vehicle veered onto the opposite side of the road and crashed into the oncoming truck.

The truck took down a pole before ending up in a ditch on the side of the road

All that remains of the private car is a mangled wreck.

An investigation is underway into the circumstances that led to the accident.
