The Accident Compensation Commission has received 33 death related compensation applications of which 13 have been paid.
Chief Executive Parvez Akbar says the commission will continue to share the financial burden of families struck by tragedy.
He says the commission has paid $975,000 in death compensation so far.
Akbar says another payment will be made today while two more will be paid out next week.
He says once these three payments are made than a total of $1.2m death compensation would have been paid out this year.
“For the other applications for deaths, we are waiting for the final documentation, letter of administration on behalf of the deceased. That is the legal process and once we receive all the information, we will finalize payments.”
Akbar says the commission has also received 205 applications related to personal injuries.
Meanwhile, the current road death toll stands at 65 compared to 62 for the same period last year.
