3 people in hospital following separate accidents

A 20-year-old driver is admitted at the Tavua Hospital after the car he was driving veered off the road in Natawa in Tavua yesterday morning.

Police say the suspect who is alleged to have been driving under the influence of alcohol was accompanied by a 19-year-old passenger.

They were heading towards Lautoka.

The driver will be interviewed soon.

In another case, a 9-year-old boy is admitted in stable condition at the Sigatoka Hospital after he was allegedly hit by a vehicle driven by a 27-year-old man.

Police Spokesperson, Ana Naisoro says the suspect was heading towards Nadi when the alleged accident occurred along the Queens Road near Tagitagi in Sigatoka yesterday morning.

It is alleged the victim suddenly crossed the road.

Naisoro says the driver will be questioned soon.

Meanwhile, in a separate case a 15-year-old student of Naikabula in Lautoka was allegedly hit by a vehicle driven by a 54-year-old man from Lovu in Lautoka.

She is admitted in stable condition.

The incident occurred on Thursday night along Drasa Avenue.

The victim allegedly ran across the road when she was hit by the suspect.
