Police Chief of Operations ASP Maretino Qiolevu says officers will be patrolling these areas to ensure the safety of voters.

“These police officers have been informed and are ready by 5am tomorrow to be at all the polling venues.”

ASP Qiolevu maintains that safety in these flood prone areas is important and people need to take good care of themselves.

“If they come in and it’s raining, just bring your umbrella along and raincoat. Try to cast your vote quickly, we are all responsible adults. Try to monitor the weather situation. We have the presiding officers who will be advising and guiding us as well.”

7,498 Fijians from across the Central, Eastern and Western Divisions will cast their votes tomorrow.
