Suva High Court Judge Justice Salesi Temo says there are two hundred and sixty four rape cases pending in high court that needs to be dealt with this year.

Judge Temo revealed this while hearing a rape case yesterday.

The case involved a man who allegedly raped a 17-year-old girl.

The man demanded the court to have his trial next week.

The Judge said there are other cases that need to be dealt with.

The matter has been adjourned to 7th December.
