23 year old sentenced for aggravated robbery

A 23-year old man who robbed an elderly man with a hearing impairment has been sentenced to 10 years and 9 months imprisonment.

Mosese Uluicicia entered the house of the elderly man at night when he was sleeping and stole more than $49,000 worth of items.

The court heard that the victim had his face covered at time of the incident, however there was force used.

Suva High Court, Judge, Justice, Vincent Perera said the aggravating factors in the case was that the robbery was carried out in the middle of the night and with frightening circumstances.

A non-parole period of 8 years and nine months has been set.
