Forty-seven bus drivers in the Western Division were caught in breach of the E-Transport Regulations.
The Land Transport Authority Western Enforcement Unit conducted an intensive campaign to ensure drivers and passengers adhere to the E-Transport regulation.
LTA says some bus drivers continue to accept cash from passengers and there were instances where passengers were caught handing cash to drivers despite the regulation in place.
Of the 47 drivers, 13 were of Khan Buses, four from the Lautoka General Transport, eight from the Classic Buses Limited, six each from West Buses Limited and Shahbu Dean Transport, four from Nadi General limited, five were drivers of Pacific Transport while there was one driver of the M.R.Khan Buses.
LTA says during their two weeks of awareness, 59 passengers and 23 drivers were issued with infringement notices.
The LTA is urging Fijians to abide by the regulations in place and failure to adhere to the notice will result in a fine of $150.
