The Suva Arterial Road Upgrade Project known as SARUP two will be rolled out in the next three months and is expected to affect traffic flow in and around Suva.

The Fiji Roads Authority has $20 million earmarked for this project which will see major upgrades to more than twenty roads.

Chief executive, Jonathan Moore says a Transport Study is currently underway to ensure that when the project begins, traffic flows and possible diversions are well planned to minimise disruptions.

“The SARUP two project should be starting about April with the reconstruction of about 21 roads around Suva and on the SARUP two, we’re talking about complete reconstruction.”

The project, Moore explains will take between 18 to 24 months to complete.

In addition, there will be service work included in the project which will mean an upgrade of utilities such as the water and power supply across a number of locations.
