204 new soldiers to join RFMF

Two hundred and four individuals including thirty-nine females passed out today following thirteen weeks of training.

Speaking at the Basic Recruit Course Passing Out Parade in Nasinu Defence Minister, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola says as newly enlisted soldiers they have developed the capacity of military discipline.

He reminded the new recruits that in the 2013 constitution, the Republic of Fiji Military Forces has the overall responsibility to ensure the Security, Defence and well-being all Fijians at all times.

Ratu Inoke says as a soldier they need to embrace this constitutional obligation and align their skills and abilities to this.

He says over the years, the RFMF has endured harsh and unrelenting criticisms.

The Minister told the solders they now they are part of the institution and they have to remain firm and loyal to uphold the core values and prove the critics wrong.

Seventy-four of the recruits will undertake the Officer Cadet Training, 45 will be absorbed with the Engineering Unit while the remaining 85 will be posted to the Territorial Force Brigade.
