Conference Chairman Gordon Jenkins

The review of the 2018 conference resolutions will be the major topic of discussion during the Construction Industry Council Conference this year.

Conference Chairman Gordon Jenkins says Resolutions covered included education and training, licensing, dispute resolution (mediation), contract review, cyclone insurance, standards, building code review, cyclone insurance, OHS-environment and regulations as well as authority approvals.

Jenkins says nine task groups have been assigned to investigate the resolutions and are expected to present their final recommendation.

“All those subjects have been addressed by groups of people and during the conference, we will give an update on where we stand.”

Last year’s conference attracted 370 delegates but, according to Jenkins, that number will grow this year.

The 2019 CIC Conference will be held on the 14th to the16th of June at the Grand Pacific Hotel in Suva.
