The Police Force still has pending cheques from its 2015 back pay to be collected.

This was revealed by Police Chief Admin Officer, ACP Itendra Nair while giving an update on the 2015 police pay-out to the Standing Committee on Public Accounts.

_“The money was given to us in 2015 and we have to go back in 2004, to pick up all the old records in terms of where the officers are and in 2004, many of the officers have retired, they have migrated, somewhere deceased getting their details, is a challenge, until today.”

ACP Nair says they are working on contacting cheque owners through social media as most of them are overseas.

He adds the Force is also working on contacting family members of deceased officers who are also cheque recipients.
