Bus commuters have been urged to use the eTransport top-up vending machines wisely following incidents which jammed the machines.

Vodafone Fiji’s Regional Chief Executive, Pradeep Lal says a total of five top-up machines have been activated in Suva, Nausori and Nadi bus stations.

Lal says there have been a couple of incidents where damaged coins and folded notes were inserted into the machines which jammed the machine tracks and these had to be cleared before the services could resume.

Lal says vending machines have attracted a lot of positive responses from travellers as they have adapted to the new mode of topping-up their cards.

Meanwhile, 20,000 eTransport top-up transactions have taken place since the launch of the vending machines on Saturday.
