200 applications for Young Entrepreneurship Scheme

To date, two hundred young and aspiring entrepreneurs have made applications for the Young Entrepreneurship Scheme (YES).

Permanent Secretary for Trade, Shaheen Ali says that government launched the Young Entrepreneurship Scheme in a bid to stimulate further growth in the economy.

Ali says the scheme is for young and motivated individuals with innovative business ideas and successful candidates can qualify for grants up to twenty thousand dollars.

“This scheme at the heart of YES is a performed belief in the unique perspective brought by the young Fijians and their understanding of the needs of the evolving and growing marketplace.”

The Young Entrepreneurship Scheme is about giving life to ideas of smart and ambitious young Fijians.

This scheme also incorporates mentoring and training that equips candidates with the skills needed to manage a business sustainably.
