A twenty-year-old man who pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated burglary and one count of theft escaped custodial sentence.

The court heard Lepani Tuli and another accused entered a shop in Nausori and stole assorted items valued at more than six thousand dollars in January.

High court Judge Justice, Chamath Morais said these types of offences have increased due to the leniency they are dealt with and society now demands an unsympathetic or stern judicial approach on these types of offences.
