18 families will be given units at the Lagilagi Housing at Jittu Estate in Raiwaqa this Friday.

People’s Community Network Director Semiti Qalowasa says the new occupants will live there temporarily and they will move to their permanent units upon the completion of the project.

Qalowasa says the 18 occupants are the ones that have had their houses destroyed by fire and some that were relocated from various squatter settlements around the country.

With a high demand from people to own a unit at the Lagilagi Housing Project, Qalowasa is hoping that more funds will be directed by government to complete the project.

PCN has requested government to provide an extra $800,000 to finish phase two of the construction works.

Qalowasa confirms it is costing PCN $20 million to build 157 homes and hopes are high that more assistance will come their way.
