Seventeen people appeared at the Lautoka amagistrates Court yesterday charged with burglary and theft.

All have been remanded in custody.

The seventeen are alleged to have committed the crimes at the height of cyclone Evan.

Thirteen of those who appeared will be sentenced on Monday, after they pleaded guilty, while the remaining four are remanded until the 4th of January.
