$16m into the Micro and Small Business Grants: Koya

The Government has invested $16 million dollars into the micro and small business grants in the last three years.

This was highlighted by the Minister for Industry, Trade and Tourism, Faiyaz Koya during the 30th phase of the Micro and Small Business Grant in Levuka yesterday.

Koya informed the recipients in Levuka that under the initiative the Government has supported 16,685 recipients and the results have been positive towards improving the livelihood of at least 83,425 Fijians.

A total of $78,528 grant was disbursed to recipients in Levuka yesterday.

Koya says the grant will assist the recipients towards their business projects.

He adds that the recipients’ progress will be monitored by the Ministry after six months to enable the Ministry to evaluate the impact of the support provided to their business and how has it improved their livelihoods.
