160 countries meet to discuss renewable energy

More than 1,200 participants from 160 countries, international organizations, private sector and civil society engaged at the High-Level discussions to accelerate renewable energy deployment.

This is done in support of the sustainable development goals and global climate objectives.

The 9th Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency featured several key discussions on critical issues related to the advancement of renewable energy.

Two ministerial roundtables on ‘Catalyzing Off-Grid Renewable Energy Deployment towards Universal Electricity Access’ and on the ‘Transformative Impact of Innovation in the Renewable Energy Sector’ were also held.

This Assembly presented an opportunity for Fiji to continue the momentum set forth during its COP23 Presidency.
