140 claims paid by Fiji Care under Micro Insurance product

The FijiCare Insurance Limited has so far made $524,000 claim payments under its Micro Insurance product.

Managing Director, Peter McPherson says since the product was launched last year 140 claims have been paid to date.

McPherson says the product covers nearly 120,000 individuals in sugar cane growers, dairy farmers, copra farmers, rice growers, social welfare recipients and civil servants.

In light of this the Insurance Company was recognised for its contributions and awarded winners of the Reuben James Summerlin Innovation Award for 2018.

The award is given to the outstanding financial service provider partner that has made the greatest contribution to Financial Inclusion in the Pacific for that year.
