A 14 year-boy has died after he was involved in a hit and run accident last night.

Police say the boy died instantly when he was hit by a white van which failed to stop.

The incident happened at Votualevu in Nadi at around 6pm.

Police are now looking for the van, which may have been damaged, due to the impact of the accident.

Those who might have information that will help police in their investigating are requested to come forward.

Parents are also reminded to be cautious on the whereabouts of their children as we approach the end of another school term.

The same plea goes to motorist to be mindful of other road users whilst using the road.
