14 people charged with 26 counts rape and sexual offences

The latest statistics released by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions reveals a 19-year-old man was charged for allegedly raping his five-year-old nephew and two seven-year-old nieces last month.

These upsetting statistic also reveals out of the 14 victims of rape and sexual offences, 10 were under the age of 18 years.

An 11-year-old boy was charged with rape of a three-year-old girl.

14 people were charged with 26 counts of rape and sexual assault.

The ODPP says there was a male victim while 13 were female victims and the accused were all men.

In another separate incidents, a 38-year-old and 55-year-old man were charged with rape and sexual assault of their 10-year-old niece.

There was an incident where a 55-year-old man was charged for allegedly raping his 21-year-old step daughter.

ODPP adds in two separate incidents, a 38-year-old grandfather and a 59- year-old grand uncle were each charged with rape of their six-year-old granddaughter and 12-year-old grandniece.

In another incident, a 38-year-old man was charged with rape of a 13-year-old girl. He was also charged with abduction and wrongful confinement.

There was an incident where two men aged 22 and 23-years were charged with the rape of a 19-year-old girl while a 49-year-old was charged with the rape of a 10-year-old girl.
