He says the most horrific accident was in Nabou in Sigatoka where eight lives were lost.

Mishra adds that August was the month that recorded the most fatalities.

“This year probably, the most challenging year if you see the statistics as we are going on, and much sometimes very sometimes the trend continues. And now one of the major trend that have been shifted is that fatalities are not only occurring on the main highway, it’s on the side roads.”

Mishra says this statistics are shocking given that we are not in the festive season yet.
Meanwhile, fatalities rates was at the highest in 1996 with 111 cases.
