Unemployed youth find job under Community Policing program

More than twenty unemployed youth of Nadera in Nasinu have found jobs thanks to the Fiji Police Community policing initiative.

More than twenty unemployed youth of Nadera in Nasinu have found jobs thanks to the Fiji Police Community policing initiative.

The Nadera Methodist Circuit and the Fiji Police visited businesses in the area after Nadera was marked a ‘red zone’ for illicit drug activities.

Senior Pastor Reverend Manasa Levatabua says most of these young men and women get into bad habits because of unemployment.

“And its good working with the community policing we are able to facilitate and provide them jobs through working with other business houses due to unemployment. And we are so happy to see that they are being employed – about 26 are now employed”.

Ten other youth from the area are expected to secure a job soon.
