Three fishermen rescued after boat capsizes

A search and rescue flight team deployed by the Rescue Coordination Centre located the missing persons some distance from the capsized boat.

Three fishermen were rescued in Yasawa waters after their boats capsized yesterday.

The three are believed to be from Tavua and were rescued earlier today.

Since January this year, RCC FIJI has coordinated 63 search and rescue cases and 246 lives have been rescued or assisted.

Last year, a total of 61 cases were coordinated .

The Rescue Coordination Centre has acknowledged the support of the Fiji Police, Fiji Airports, Turtle Island Resort, Turaga ni Koros’ of Teci, Nabukeru and Nacula villages and others provided in this successful rescue.
