12-month employment survey starts

A twelve month survey has begun to assess Fiji’s employment and unemployment situation.

The 2015-2016 Employment and Unemployment Survey is carried out every five years by the Fiji Bureau of Statistics.

The first is in the Central division visiting three urban areas and two rural areas in Vatoa, Lau and Naitasiri.

The areas covered in the first six months are scattered among the fourteen provinces including Rotuma and other outer islands.

By this time next year, the Bureau will have covered five thousand homes and collated all the information to deliver a comprehensive report on unemployment.
