The Health Ministry has initiated a 12-hour shift for nurses and doctors in hospitals to cater for any emergency.

Health spokesperson, Peni Namotu says the 12-hour shift will ease the workload and ensure efficient services to the public.

“We are maximising manpower capacity in health facilities and also we have 12-hour shifts for hospital officials. All hospitals will be on stand-by to provide timely intervention to the people who are affected. We also have adequate drug supplies in hospitals in the western division to cater for emergency cases.”
