PRB Chief Executive Patrick Veu

$119,000 in rent is still owed to the Public Rental Board from 18 rental estates this year.

Chief Executive Patrick Veu says the PRB aims to reduce the arrears to 98,000 before the year ends Monday.

Veu hopes tenants who owe rent will come forward and pay.

“At the moment says some one week rent. There is none owing us $1000 but I think the total is 600 tenants who still owes us from less than 10 dollars up till $800 .There’s a few with 800 dollars.”

The PRB currently has 1658 tenants, 75% are on direct deduction and 25% make cash payment.

The arrears make up about 3% of the $4 million total rental income.
