114 wheelchairs to benefit needy children

More than one hundred brand new wheel chairs have been donated to the Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Services which is expected to bring relief to needy children.

Fiji High Commissioner to Australia, Yogesh Punja says the charitable organization relies on the goodwill of Fijians in Australia and annual fundraising events to source funds for its charitable initiatives.

President Saroj Raj says the wheel chairs are early Christmas gifts for the needy.

Acting Permanent Secretary for Health Bernadette Welch welcomed the timely donation.

“So far there are 114 wheel chairs received by FPBS as donations from Saroj care. That’s a huge number. We know that each wheelchair changes the life of the recipient but is also changes the life of everybody in their family and we are grateful for the number of lives these wheel chairs are going to change for the better.”

Saroj Care Fiji Incorporated attracted over two hundred and fifty people in its Annual fundraiser to raise money to purchase wheel chairs for kids.
