Shadows and Light is an exhibition 10 years in the making and is now open to the public at the 21K Gallery in Suva.
The solo work from the local and emerging artist Kim Sachs who prior to showing off her art was once a photo journalist.
With close to 40 pieces on display, the exhibition celebrates Sachs coming of age experimenting with painting in various styles and of various subjects.
Curator Peter Sipeli, says the exhibition is a new way of seeing the world through the eyes of a young artist.
“I mean Kim is a perfect depiction of an artist so everyone, every portrait is someone in her life, every abstract or surrealist painting has a story to it and if you walk around, every single one has a name, it’s someone that existed in her life, inhabited her memory.”
The exhibition is open for another week with Sach relocating to Melbourne, Australia to develop her art.
