$1.7million allocated to LTA for six new projects

Approximately $1.7million has been allocated to the Land Transport Authority to undergo six new projects.

These new projects include the purchasing of a shredder machine for Valelevu, procurement of two number plate embossing and hot stamping machine, procurement of two mobile caravan trucks for the Western and Northern divisions, a geographical information system project, disaster recovery solution and end user equipment.

Under the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, more than $700,000 has been allocated for the supply and installation of three new generators for the Nabouwalu rural government station and one standby generator for other government stations.

Nine hundred thousand dollars has also been allocated to upgrade the Buca Hydro turbine and $300,000 for the improvement of Buca Hydro Access road.

The Rural Grid infrastructure project from Malhaha to Oinafa in Rotuma has been allocated $785,000, while $2million has been allocated towards the extension of the electricity grid to Nalwa District, Nasau in Rakiraki while $2.1million is for the grid extension to Lalakoro, Vunimako, Rokosalase and Daqau settlement in Seaqaqa.
