Westpac clarifies use of airport bureau exchange

In an emailed response, the bank confirms that only customers can buy and sell foreign exchange at set amounts.

Westpac Bank has clarified that its foreign exchange bureau at the Nadi International Airport transit lounge is only for their account holders.

In an emailed response, the bank confirms that only customers can buy and sell foreign exchange at set amounts.

Westpac is the only bank that has a foreign exchange outlet within the transit lounge at Nadi International, once passengers have cleared customs.

Travellers who do not have accounts with the bank will not be able to buy currency at the outlet.

However, the statement goes on to say that while non-Westpac Fiji customers cannot buy foreign exchange, they can sell up to $4 500 Fijian at the airport branch.

Airports Fiji Limited is yet to comment.
