Vodafone Fiji's Regional Chief Executive Pradeep Lal

Vodafone Fiji will convert the current 100 3G base stations to 4G+ and pre 5G base stations.

Vodafone Fiji’s Regional Chief Executive Pradeep Lal says work on 144 new 4G+ and 5G base stations has also commenced.

Lal says the new stations will expand capacity and coverage across the country.

He says there has been progress on the upgrade since the announcement last August.

“All this is happening in parallel. As I the network upgrade or switch upgrade in the back end and first 100 sites which is the 3G sites is being converted to 4G+ sites.”

Lal says all base stations hardware, tower, power systems and antennas have arrived in the country.
