One traveller shared a video showing lengthy queues to get through security.

Twitter user Ten C96 said: “Holy cow the line to go to security/boarding at Sydney airport go all the way around the terminal it’s so crazy.”

Another passenger, twitter user Jitterbug Pearce, said: “I’m in this same line and this is absolutely crazy! I’ve never seen a line like this in my life!”

Sydney Airport directed enquiries to Australian Border Force in Canberra who confirmed there was an outage but said it was too soon to determine where it was or how many airports it was affecting.

It’s understood the outage is affecting passengers trying to pass security to board flights.

Strong winds also impacted the airport over the weekend.
