The Sugarcane Growers Fund will soon change its lending system as the current system has been operational for more than 13 years.

Chief Executive Raj Sharma says they had some drawbacks in regards to data integrity and data security.

As a result, the fund invested around half a million dollars into a new system to enhance efficiency as the loan application will no longer be done manually and the payment processing will be done by the system.

“We had an in-house loan system and we have acquired through a company in India Sesame Software Solutions. The new system is similar to any banking system but it is a lending system.”

Sharma says this new system will improve services of the lending to the growers, connection and communication, including most of the data and process automation.

This will also improve the data accuracy and reporting and overall better services to the growers.

The system includes Apps and real-time loan application submission.
