Following a successful roadshow in the Northern Division, the Real Estate Licensing Board will now investigate bogus agents.

REALB and the Consumer Council carried out an awareness session in Taveuni, Savusavu, and Labasa on the real estate sector.

REALB Chair Dr. Abdul Hassan says the responses of the people during the awareness program was overwhelming.

Dr. Hassan says this is a critical issue as a substantial amount of money is involved in the real estate industry.

He says during the roadshow they got indications that more bogus agents are coming up in the market.

He says REALB will investigate and will gather more information to take legal action against them.

Dr. Hassan stresses that the registered agents are appointed by the REALB and they are issued with the identification cards and certificates which contains their license number, expiry date and the name of the agent for a specific period.
