Real Estate body submits proposals

December 4, 2018 3:42 am

The Real Estate Association has proposed establishing a Residential Tenancy Tribunal to ensure the interests of landlords and tenants are protected.

The association members over the years have dealt with numerous cases of unsatisfied landlords and tenants, hence, a tribunal would be best suited to solve these issues.

This is one of a number of proposals discussed by its members during the association’s first Annual General Meeting on Saturday.

Association president, Anand Goundar, says they have submitted a collection of all the proposals put forward by its members to the board.

“Real B is in the process of going to other stakeholder sand taking their views. Thereafter they will be tabled in parliament on what can be done to ensure the Act is much stronger.”

The Association continues to work hard to ensure the agents and salespersons abide by the Real Estate Agents Act 2006.
