With Central Share Registry Limited being appointed as a trustee of the Energy Fiji Limited, EFL Chief executive Hasmukh Patel says this will benefit many Fijians.

Patel says the partnership with CSRL is a way forward for all domestic EFL shareholders.

He says potential beneficiaries who have not applied need to do so.

“If you have not applied for these free shares, the non-voting shares then you can approach CSRL and they will then monitor the process from there. They can make the application to them, they will then speak to EFL and finally if your application is approved, then SPSE will issue them with certificates.”

In April the shares of Energy Fiji Limited were divested with 5% non-voting shares allocated for domestic users.

36,000 domestic customers are currently shareholders while more than 100,000 who qualify have not applied for their shares.
