Over $600M tourism earnings in Sept quarter

The Bureau of Statistics confirms the September quarter earnings are 22% or $118.7 million higher than the June quarter of 2019.

Fiji earned $647.5 million from tourism between July and September this year.

Australia again topped the list for the highest earnings with $260.8 million or 40% of the total.

New Zealanders spent $179.5 million or 27.7 percent to the total followed by the United States of America. A slight drop was recorded in earnings from Chinese tourists.

Fiji’s Earnings from Tourism is an estimate of the average daily spending of tourists gathered from The International Visitor Survey.
