The people of Labasa can expect to watch movies on the big screen with the opening of two cinemas come August 1st.

Located at the Gurbachan Singh Mall, the cinemas are sure to be a big attraction for Labasa.

Owner Charan Jeath Singh says for years the people of Labasa have been deprived of some good and up to date movie entertainment.

Singh says there will be two cinemas located on level three of the mall.

One cinema will accommodate 90 people and the other 80.

Labasa has over the years had three cinemas, the Majestic Cinema, and the Elite and Diamond Theatres but their operations seized a while back.

Meanwhile, Level 2 of the Mall is now open to the public.

It features eight eateries, six of which have commenced operation.

It also has a gallery, containing images of Labasa from the yesteryears.

The mall will be officially opened around the end of September.
